Fraud is one of the most important issues facing businesses and individuals today due to new payment systems that are sometimes unregulated and global fraudulent opportunities within businesses from all over the world.
Each of us is aware of recent examples of a hospital’s curtailed services resulting from a hacked and ransomed server, a senior citizen’s life savings lost through identity theft, or a business being fined millions of dollars for compromised customer credit card information. Each breach costs resources in the form of time, money, incredible stress, lost business, and good will. And, for each breach that made the news, many more have not … yet.
As a representative of a municipality, bank, corporate entity, or a medical or educational institution, you owe it to yourself, your clients, your employees and your suppliers to provide a safe exchange of goods and services. By heightening awareness of this scary reality, businesses and residents of the southland can then mitigate risks.
